Ankle Problems
The Ankle is basically a hinged joint However when functioning in conjunction with the sub talar joint in the foot it allows an individual to stand upright on uneven ground. The foot and ankle are amongst the most abused regions of the body. As a podiatrist patients often say" I do not like feet, they are ugly", yet where would we be or, perhaps more relevant, where could we go without them.
Feet are so very complicated in their structure and purpose, they hold us in a stable position, we walk, run, jump performing all sorts of activities because of and through our feet. Many of the traumas I as a podiatrist treat are due to skeletal malfunction most of these malfunctions can and should be corrected and, if ignored problems are likely to reoccur. I have provided information on just some of the conditions a person/patient can experience and think that is available by the application of biomechanics and a orthopedic device.
