Knee Problems
The knee is the largest and in many ways most complex joint in the body, the axis point between the Femur & Tibia. In addition to articulating cartilage it comprises a MENISCI cartilage; this plate like cartilage assists in the stabilizing and function of the knee.
There are a number of factors that can affect the knee in its efficient functioning and as a result can cause pain and discomfort from Patellofemoral articulation, Deformed Cruciate and collateral ligaments, wear & tear of the Articulating & Meniscus Cartilage. Damage to the Meniscus cartilage is common and since it does not have a matrix and source of nutrient it is unable to repair itself, this allows direct contact of the condyles of the knee and loads being directly applied to the two regions of Articulating cartilage.
Cartilage placed in permanent deformity will exude fluids and disintegrate leading to degenerative Osteoarthritis.
